Misha Simmonds is ASP’s 18th Head of School

On July 1, 2024, Misha Simmonds joined ASP, succeeding former Head Jane Thompson, whose successful six-year tenure and leadership enabled the school to experience continuous growth in many areas of excellence. Our strategic plan—Going Beyond—which she co-created alongside students and the ASP community, drives the school’s innovative and aspirational objectives, which Misha will continue to steward in the 2024–25 academic year.

Misha is a proven school leader and educator with over 25 years of experience at International Baccalaureate and American curriculum Pre-K to Grade 12 schools in the United States, Cyprus, and Nepal before arriving at ASP. Misha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School, and a Master in Educational Leadership degree from Baruch College, City University of New York. His longstanding professional mission is to develop all types of learners into global citizens with a growth mindset and empowered to achieve educational excellence, nurture personal well-being, and change the world for the better. His vision aligns perfectly with ASP's own mission—to inspire and prepare every student to achieve personal and academic excellence as an engaged global citizen by providing a challenging, innovative program within a compassionate environment.
