Head of School
Jane Thompson, a well-known and highly-respected academic leader and distinguished educator, became ASP’s 17th Head of School in 2018–19.
Under her leadership, the school has undergone incredible growth in many areas of excellence, inspired by the school’s strategic plan Going Beyond. Co-created with students and the ASP community, the strategy drives the school’s innovative and aspirational objectives.
Originally from the UK, Jane has served as an international school leader for over 18 years at schools in Istanbul, Budapest, and now, Paris. She began her career as an elementary teacher in the UK and later took up the position of Head of the British International School, Budapest. During her time at the Istanbul International Community School, whilst navigating some interesting political challenges, she led the school through accreditations for the International Baccalaureate Organisation, Council of International Schools, and NEASC.
Jane holds a degree in English and Drama from the University of London and an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Bath. She has served on accreditation teams for CIS around the globe and has been a member of the Board of Trustees for ECIS, the Educational Collaborative for International Schools. Jane has recently been elected as a member of the Heads Council for the International Baccalaureate Organization.
