Parent–Faculty Association at the American School of Paris

We have a wonderful Parent–Faculty Association (PFA) made up made up of parents from across the ASP community, including families living in Paris and the surrounding region. They volunteer with grade levels, organize events for parents on and off campus, support school spirit initiatives for students, and contribute in many other ways. The PFA acts as a bridge between ASP faculty and staff and enrolled parents and students, helping to build a vibrant and supportive international community in Paris. The association continuously develops new resources, parent activities, and community events to enhance the experience of families living within the ASP community.

Mission statement

The purpose of the Parent Faculty Association is to build community, foster a welcoming atmosphere, celebrate ASP’s international diversity, and provide a connection between families, faculty and staff.

Neighborhood, country, and language groups

Neighborhood groups bring together families living near each other, while language and country groups connect families who come from the same country or who speak the same native language. Each group is led by a volunteer liaison who will organize opportunities to meet throughout the year, whether in-person or via Zoom. Liaisons are also happy to answer questions and help you learn about life here in France.

Parent coffees

The PFA collaborates with the Lower, Middle, and Upper School divisions to organize regular parent coffees throughout the academic year. These gatherings take place on campus and provide opportunities for parents to meet, exchange experiences, and stay informed about topics relevant to each grade level. Sessions typically include presentations by school leadership and faculty, followed by open discussion. On average, two parent coffee meetings are organized per grade level each year.

Senior parents group

Senior year is a momentous event for the future graduates and their families; the Senior Parents Group helps plan special activities to support our hard-working seniors and to celebrate their special year. The Senior Parents Group coordinates announcements, senior photos, monthly treats, and senior t-shirts, in addition to organizing the prom, the senior award luncheon, graduation dinner, class gift, and senior directory. Please email the senior parent group for more information.

Parent activities and community service

The PFA offers a wide range of activities for parents within the ASP community. Whether parents wish to build friendships, explore cultural experiences, engage in community service, participate in wellness activities, or contribute to school initiatives, the association provides diverse opportunities to get involved. New parent activities and events are regularly introduced and shared through ASP’s weekly Parent Post and dedicated, parent-volunteer-run WhatsApp interest groups.

We would like to highlight a special tradition at ASP. As a community, we work together to bring food to refugees living on the streets of Paris. Every two weeks, parents gather at ASP to prepare sandwiches which are then distributed directly to the refugee population on the streets of Paris by Utopia 56, a refugee aid organization. We would love your help! Please see the Parent Activities link for details and to sign up.
