Community events at the American School of Paris

As part of our community-centered mission, and with the partnership of our Parent–Faculty Association, ASP offers a wide range of events throughout the school year. These gatherings celebrate the many nationalities, cultures, and traditions represented within our international school community.

From all-school picnics and seasonal celebrations to cultural fairs and International Day, our events create opportunities for students, parents, faculty, and staff to connect, share experiences, and build a strong sense of belonging within the ASP community.

Annual events

Here are just a few of the events that shape the rhythm of community life at our international school in Paris.

Back to school BBQ

Our back to school BBQ is an all-community event sponsored by ASP and the PFA. It is an afternoon filled with food, fun, music, and games! So come catch-up with old friends and make new ones. Sports teams, clubs, and grade representatives will all be on hand to greet you and introduce themselves, reflecting the vibrant student life at ASP.

Living in Paris seminars

Are you new to Paris? Don't worry, we are here to help you learn how to navigate French life! These seminars will help you learn how to shop, navigate the metro, drive, learn more about the medical system, and so much more. It is also a great way to meet other new families. These seminars take place at the beginning of the school year and again in January or February.

Lower School Trunk or Treat

Lower School students may trick or treat in the safe and enclosed area of the ASP parking lot as car trunks are decorated and families gather and enjoy the Halloween spirit. It is a real treat to see so many in costume and such creatively decorated trunks-and lots of candy!

Visiting writer program

For over 20 years, thanks to a generous gift from alumnus Steven Barclay '77, we have been able to showcase some of the literary world's best-known authors. Each March, this evening reception at an exclusive location in Paris is one of ASP's premiere community events and a highlight of the school calendar.
