Athletics at the American School of Paris

Athletics play an important role in student life at the American School of Paris. As part of our international school program, Middle School and Upper School students have the opportunity to participate in a structured athletics program that combines competition, collaboration, teamwork, and personal development.

Students can compete at the Middle School, varsity, or junior varsity level, depending on age, experience, and sport. ASP teams are part of a network of local and international schools in Europe, giving students the opportunity to compete against peers from other school communities throughout the season.

An international athletics program with a global dimension

ASP athletics reflect the spirit of American school sports within an international environment. Teams compete in regular-season games and conclude each season with a championship tournament for each sport.

Beyond competition, athletics at ASP emphasize sportsmanship, commitment, and school spirit. International tournaments offer meaningful opportunities for students to:

  • travel together as a team
  • represent the American School of Paris abroad
  • build friendships with students from other countries
  • discover new cultures through sport

Many alumni cite international athletics tournaments as some of their most memorable experiences at ASP.

Middle School and Upper School athletics

Athletic opportunities are available to students in both Middle School and Upper School. Programs are designed to support progressive skill development, teamwork, and confidence while encouraging a healthy balance between academics and athletics. Whether students are experienced athletes or discovering a new sport, the program promotes participation, growth, and commitment.

Beyond athletics

In addition to athletics, we have a diverse range of after-school activities, for all ages,  designed to inspire and engage students beyond the classroom. Whether your child is interested in robotics, drama, art, or music, or is looking to explore new passions through clubs like debate, chess, or environmental conservation, they’re sure to find something they love.  ASP, along with our seven partner schools, are in the process of launching the non-athletics side of our offerings.  For an overview, please click here.

Students interested in recreational sports or non-competitive athletic options can explore the full range of after-school activities at the American School of Paris, available across all divisions.
