SAT Test Preparation Intensive Week

For students entering the final two years of high school and preparing to attend an American university, our summer SAT Test Preparation is an essential course.  Our experienced instructor will teach you effective strategies to improve your critical thinking, Reading, and Math skills.  In addition, our partners from Mindspire and Khan Academy will provide valuable study resources, and each student will have an opportunity to take two simulated tests (once during the course, once after the course) with valuable individualized data analysis of the results. You have the option to select the full-day program for both Reading and Mathematics training or a half-day session to focus on either Reading OR Math.

College Essay Writing

This specialized writing program is for students applying to Universities that require personal statements or personal essays such as on the UCAS platform (UK) or the Common Application (USA). During the week of our half-day sessions, students will write several essays after learning to brainstorm ideas, study model essays, apply techniques of personalizing their writing, reviewing grammar, and sharing their individual processes. Our experienced writing instructor from last summer’s course will be returning in 2018 to help students prepare to write their best essays for their university applications!

AP/IB Study Skills

This summer course is designed to support students entering Grade 11 (1ère in the French school system) next autumn, especially those enrolling in AP courses or the IB program. Our experienced instructors will introduce the higher level of reading and critical thinking that is essential in a variety of subjects—literature, history, science, mathematics, and social sciences. In addition to writing and developing complex ideas (as a preview to the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay), students will also be expected to engage in intellectual discussions and debates, and will learn effective strategies. Each session is three hours in length (morning/afternoon sessions are the same); this enables students to enroll in another fun summer class or activity during the day.
