Visiting Writer Program

Visiting Writer Program

2017 Honoree - Naomi Shihab Nye

For the past fourteen years, thanks to a generous gift from literary agent Steven Barclay (ASP Class of 1977), ASP has been able to showcase some of the literary world's best known authors at our Visiting Writer Program. During their visit at ASP, the authors interact with Upper School students, give presentations and are interviewed by members of ASP's student publication Ink. During an evening, they also give a reading for the ASP adult community at a special reception.

Thanks to the continued generous support of alumnus Steven Barclay, in previous years ASP's Visiting Writer Program has also enjoyed visits from: Tim Egan, Michael Pollan, Terry Tempest Williams & Alexandra Fuller, Ira Glass, Sarah Vowell, Amy Tan, Robert Hass, Dr Azar Nafisi, Alexander McCall Smith, Robert Pinsky, Billy Collins, Naomi Shihab Nye, David Sedaris, Marjane Satrapi
