American School of Paris - LS Curriculum

Curriculum Overview

We believe that students learn best when the curriculum encourages and challenges all domains of learning – academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative.

We want our children to be confident readers who enjoy a variety of texts; to be able to write for a variety of purposes; to explore and problem solve; to express themselves creatively through art, music, and movement; to take part in longer term integrated units and to immerse themselves in the French language and culture.

Field trips, both local and throughout France, are planned to complement their learning in school and the amazing city of Paris thus becomes a familiar resource to continually explore. Lower School students are also involved in several community service projects throughout the year, providing meaningful connections to the world outside of ASP.

The Lower School curriculum is balanced so that it supports the strengths and areas of further development for each child
