American School of Paris Summer Camp
Beyond a summer camp, we believe in creating an inspiring summer community, one where students can explore and learn from an audacious program and where friends and memories are made.
Our Summer Camp is open to local and international students and will run
from June 20 through July 15 2022, offering English Language Immersion for students of ages 4 to 18 through exploration activities, sports and academic enrichment and a French Activity Camp.
As they expand their perspective, improve skills or enjoy activities and exchange with peers from ASP, international and local French schools, students take full advantage of all that our campus has to offer, including outdoor spaces, athletic fields, dedicated spaces for performing arts, music, art and innovation.
Discover the incredibly diversified program that is offered and the opportunity for each student to design the perfect course combination of learning and enrichment.

More about our Summer Camp
Supporting A Successful Summer Camp Experience
Your child's motivation is essential for a successful summer camp and learning experience. We invite you to review the program together to select the program that is most suited to your child's interests and objectives.
Your involvement as a parent is equally important to a successful camp experience. We encourage you to inform your child prior to the start of the camp that English only is spoken on campus and that it is the language of instruction with reassurance that teachers will guide beginner students to understand and to communicate. Regular attendance, timeliness, preparedness and a willingness to experience new approaches are also essential to success. If immersion in a new language can be daunting at first, it is also an exciting experience because it places students in a real-life context. Progress will soon follow for students who are proactive during class time and who make the most of the environment provided by the teacher and their peers.
English Language Prerequisites
English is the medium of instruction for all courses and specialty activities in primary and secondary programs unless otherwise indicated. Our English language programs are designed to develop language acquisition or development at all levels through a guided immersion in English approach and targeted instruction.
Speciality activities support language acquisition and some knowledge of English is recommended to make the most of the learning experience though a dual French/English approach or translanguaging can be used to engage participation of English and French speakers.
While the 5-7 and 8-11 year old Activity Camps are not proposed as language learning programs and English is the language of instruction, in joining French and English speakers, they offer a natural immersion context and exposure to both languages as the instructor communicates in either language as required for each student's understanding. A great way to be exposed to native speech through peers.
Grouping
We value a diversity of profiles and interests, and form our groups correspondingly with each student's language learning objectives at heart. We focus on our guiding principle that students learn as much from each other as they do from personal effort and individualized instruction. In language classes, students are grouped by age and according their ability to communicate in English: beginner, intermediate, advanced and Anglophone.
For your child to have a successful experience in an English class, placement in the correct level is essential and we rely on the information you provide about your child's exposure to English, prior instruction in English, proficiency and degree of motivation. Please indicate this to the best of your ability. If you do not know, we can assist you. For activities, we invite you to be attentive to the English proficiency requirement that is indicated in the course description.
Beginners in English
We strongly encourage students who are at novice level in English or who have had little exposure to native speech and immersion to enroll in the morning language class to build their language skills and follow with an afternoon enrichment activity or in the Primary English Language Camp.
We welcome children ages five to eighteen years who are eager to participate in summer learning in an English-only setting. Students are placed in groups in their current grades.
Groups range in size from 12 to 18 depending on the session. Activities open when a sufficient number of students are enrolled for it.
Registration Process
Registration for all ASP Extensions will be processed online only. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis only if the fully completed registration with payment included are submitted to our office. No reservations can be made by phone or email.

In such cases, The ASP Extension will offer replacement services of similar quality or, alternatively, reimbursement for services not provided.
If as a result of unforeseen and compelling circumstances (such as demonstrations, weather conditions, pandemics and/or any other events jeopardizing the safety of students and teachers attending the school), ASP Extension is obliged to cancel all or part of its commitments, its participants may have the option to : 1) carry over the fee for a program in the school year; 2) request the reimbursement of the sums already paid.
F.A.Q
- What is the school's protocol with regards to Covid-19 ?
- Can my child be exempted from school to attend Summer Camp ?
- Do you offer lunch, transportation services ?
- What is the minimum & maximum number of students per class/activities ?
- What is the policy for responsibilities of participants ?
What is the school's protocol with regards to Covid-19 ?
The Extension Program applies the government's recommended COVID protocol for schools in France and a strict hygiene protocol of its own: high-touch surfaces are regularly disinfected, students are distanced in classrooms and in the cafeterias (the upper school cafeteria is equipped with plexiglass separations and outdoor picnic tables are available on campus for students), group mixing is avoided as much as possible and teachers and staff ensure that mask-wearing is respected. A strict protocol also applies to buses. The Extension Program and the ASP protocols are regularly updated as per the government's recommendation.
Despite that it is summer, and we hope to be more relaxed, we must remain aware of our responsibility to each other as a community–a small lapse can have a serious impact on many others and can lead to the camp's closure. Parents and children should understand the importance of respecting the health and safety measures diligently at all times while on campus but also at home or with friends.
Finally, please be rigorously attentive to your children's state of health and keep them home from camp if they are showing any COVID-19-like symptoms. If you feel that there has been even the slightest risk of exposure, please let the office know, seek a rapid test at a pharmacy, or, in more serious cases, contact your doctor to proceed with age-appropriate testing.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to keep our community safe.
Can my child be exempted from school to attend Summer Camp ?
Do you offer lunch, transportation services ?
What is the minimum & maximum number of students per class/activities ?
A minimum of 10 pupils per class / level is required to open a class (for language and activity camps).
English Language Classes : A maximum of 16 students per class. Grades and proficiency levels may be grouped.
Activities groups : A maximum of 15 to 20 students depending on the activity.
We don't honor requests for friends to be in the same class for Summer Camp.
What is the policy for responsibilities of participants ?
CITIZENSHIP AND CONDUCT
Students at ASP are expected to behave, both on and off campus, in a manner which reflects well on themselves, the school, their families. Mutual respect and consideration are the keys to making our school and program a great place to be. Below are some specific details that will no doubt create a positive experience for everyone :
- Respect yourself and others at all times
- Be responsible and prepared for class and activities ( arrival on time, follow instructions, attentiveness, mindful of peers and of the teacher...)
- Maintain a safe, calm, and clean school/class environment
The ASP Extension reserves the right to expel without issuing a refund any student whose behavior is deemed unacceptable by Extension or school administration. Behaviors resulting in expulsion : bullying, physical or verbal aggression, thefts, destruction of others' belongings or school property...

In this class, we’ll teach you how to speak fluently and confidently in front of a crowd, so you can take on any speaking assignment coming your way. Whether it be telling a story, a joke, reading a poem, delivering a speech, making a point in a debate…you name it!
