AUTHENTIC LEARNING

At the American School of Paris, students learn for the real world, not just for school. Our curriculum goes beyond the classroom and anticipates the world in which our graduates will work and thrive. Our students own and lead their learning, in environments that offer them real problems and connect them to experts as they work toward solutions. With forward-thinking best practices, our educators create authentic learning environments where students address real problems and have the opportunity to meet outside experts.

With more course choice for Grades 9–12 than any other school in the Paris area, we serve the diverse interests of the approximately 350 students enrolled in the Upper School each year. The rich and varied curriculum is accompanied by a wide variety of co-curricular activities and athletic programs, from robotics and theater to Varsity sports. 

Students have the choice to pursue an International Baccalaureate diploma, to Advanced Placement courses, and/or receive an American High School diploma, earned by successfully completing the respective requirements for each program. ASP is college preparatory, and more than 98% of each graduating class attends institutions of higher education in the year following graduation. 90% of our seniors are currently participating in either AP or IB classes, which strengthens their standing in seeking entrance to universities around the world. Most North American universities grant college credit or advanced academic standing to our students who perform well on their IB or AP examinations.
