Performing Arts - Theatre and Music

Theatre

Theatre classes are an active, dynamic, and essential component of an ASP education.

Starting in Lower School, theatre studies allow students to understand theory and the multiple facets of fine dramatic pieces, to work together as a group, and to apply learnings to the creation of their own projects.

Beyond classroom learning, ASP's co-curricular theatre activities provide students with opportunities to work as part of an ensemble, design sets, contribute to scripts, and participate in performances.

Upper and Middle School students may participate in musical and drama productions. There are also occasionally special opportunities to participate in International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) events.

All productions are presented in our professional-standard Performing Arts Center (PAC) and are major events on our school-year calendar!

Music

ASP incorporates music as a curriculum subject from the Lower School onward, providing students the foundation for a lifelong relationship and appreciation with it. Students are empowered to become independent musicians and to engage in the cognitive, physical, social and emotional experiences of a rich and diverse musical life.

American School of Paris - Music Program

Many English-speaking music teachers offer private lessons to students after school.

And, there are a multitude of opportunities for ASP students to appear in vocal and instrumental Musical Concerts, at school or abroad, at international music festivals.

At ASP, there are many opportunities to create and appreciate the sounds of music!
