LEARNING FOR LIFE

Our students are the leaders of tomorrow, and the Lower School is dedicated to creating a caring, nurturing learning environment where students flourish. Our small class sizes are an essential component of our educational framework, allowing for individualized attention and enriching group exchange.

Our experienced Lower School faculty members are truly outstanding. They are warm, caring, dedicated, perceptive, and highly trained; they deliver a high-quality educational experience. Our faculty are committed to fostering a spirit of creativity and inquiry in our students, to driving the acquisition of essential skills, and to developing our students' powers of self-expression. Beyond encouraging academic excellence, our educators work to develop strong, positive, and lasting relationships with each of their students.

A typical day in the Lower School is filled with joy, laughter, and learning. In all areas of our curriculum and throughout the daily life of each child, we seek to empower students to take ownership of their learning, and to lead their own educational experience. This creates, in each of our students, a lifelong love of learning and a deeply rewarding relationship to curiosity and discovery.

THINKING OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM

Our green campus calls for learning outside of the traditional classroom. From exploring and sketching our gardens in French class, to planting vegetables in Science, and spreading out across the field during PE, our students use our beautiful outdoor space to expand their learning. Curiosity is a natural part of the landscape at ASP.

With a city steeped in history at our doorstep, ASP educators take advantage of all that Paris and the surrounding regions have to offer. Our Lower School students visit the Parc de Saint Cloud, Musée d'Orsay, Monet's gardens at Giverny, local markets and farms, and many other important cultural landmarks. At ASP, learning is enriched by real-world experience.

Beyond cultural excursions, our Lower School students are involved in local service-learning projects, allowing them to visit neighboring organizations and to make a difference in the community around the school.

BEYOND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CONVENTIONAL CLASSROOM

A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

Our educators match students' needs to the personalized and developmental curriculum, and to their instructional practices. Small class sizes allow for students of all academic profiles to succeed. Educators from the English as an Additional Language and Learning Support programs work in close connection with classroom teachers to seamlessly provide support based on student need.
