JSTOR for secondary schools

A specially curated package of over 2,700 archival journals and four primary source collections covering the arts, sciences, and business. JSTOR provides students with a safe and trusted environment to research topics across the curriculum. Login required

 

Sora (Overdrive)

Sora is a digital reading and audiobook platform. It is user-friendly and innovative, and will give our students and teachers easy access to e-fiction and e-nonfiction.

 

Europresse

Europresse is a press and news base with more than 8000 recognized sources of information in several languages: regional, national and international press, general and specialized resources, websites, television and radio, biographies, etc. In-school use only.

Writing to the Moon with Fatoumata Kébé

The moon has been the subject of human fascination since the dawn of recorded history. Celebrated in epic poetry and sacred texts, spanning ancient mythology and modern physics, it has been the object of awe, worship, investigation, and analysis across every era of civilization. In Letters to the Moon, Astronomer and moon expert Fatoumata Kébé considers these many stories that have been told about the moon over millennia.

Jami Attenberg discusses life in transit, the creative process, and finding a home in herself in new memoir I Came All This Way to Meet You.

Word for Word 2023 at Théâtre Le Ranelagh (Paris 16)

After a three year hiatus, the San Francisco-based performing arts company Word for Word will be returning to Paris with their performance of HOME by author George Saunders.

Three translators reflect upon their movements between different languages and times in a discussion of Cecile Wajsbrot's new, Virginia Woolf-inspired work, Nevermore.

Laura Bates in conversation with John Harris

The award-winning author of Everyday Sexism will join us for an event to talk about her new book, as well as the rise in online misogyny. Fix the System, Not the Women by Laura Bates is an impassioned fight for clarity and justice in the face of rising gender-based violence, and an urgent examination into how women are perceived.

Emma Cline: The Guest

Emma Cline, the author of The Girls, will join us to talk about her highly anticipated second novel in this livestreamed event. In The Guest we meet Alex, a listless young woman teetering on the edge of disaster. When she disgraces herself at a dinner party on Long Island, the older man she's been staying with dismisses her – but, rather than return to the city, she stays on the island, drifting through a rarified sun-drenched world, trailing destruction in her wake.

Artificial intelligence: Should we be worried or excited?

The launch of ChatGPT in November 2022 made headlines, with users marvelling at its ability to generate everything from news articles, speeches, student essays – and even songs. ChatGPT is just one of a few AI tools that are set to transform how we live and work - but are they a force for good or for misinformation on an epic scale?
