Dear ASP Parents,
Now that masks are optional on campus, we have noticed a small rise in COVID-19 cases, and, certainly, a rise in critical contacts. As previously shared, one case of COVID-19 generates a huge number of contacts due to the mixing of students in activities and classes, and the expanded protocol for critical contract identifications.
As such, we are managing large numbers of students who are considered critical contacts in the Upper and Middle School. We are aware that parents are, therefore, receiving several emails requiring different schedules for testing.
We have previously required that all Upper School students take a COVID-19 test twice per week, and we are now extending this requirement to Middle School students. This procedure will run from today through spring break.
Therefore, we kindly require that parents of Upper and Middle School students auto-test their children twice a week, ideally on Sunday night and on Wednesday evening, unless your child has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two months.
- You can choose to administer a home test, or seek an antigen test or a PCR test at a pharmacy.
- The Nurses only require to be informed if a positive case emerges.
- Helping to monitor your children will limit the chance that they come to campus while COVID-19 positive, and serve to reduce the number of critical contacts in our community.
Lower School
We will continue to communicate regarding specific critical contacts and individualized testing requirements. At this time, we are not adding an auto-test requirement for Lower School students.
As always, we are monitoring the situation closely and reviewing our response to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. We will continue to update the community on our case numbers and any further actions we deem necessary.
Thank you for your continued collaboration as we adjust to these new protocols.
Best regards,
The ASP Nurses
