Dear ASP Parents,
Please be reminded that before the start of school, for all Middle and Upper School students, we will require either proof of your child's vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours before the start of school (meaning your child can begin testing on Friday morning). You can upload the documentation here. It helps us greatly if you upload the information promptly.
The most important updates to be aware of for the first weeks of school are: Campus Access
Class Closures
Masks
Bus
Critical Contacts
1. Reading our COVID-19 communications as a priority and complying with our requests. As with the previous year, health and safety requirements can change often and sometimes suddenly. Specific communications are labelled in the email subject line and will be noted as 'important'. Our weekly newsletter will include a COVID-19 section to provide an update on cases or any new information. You can access all our COVID-19 information on the website.
2. Getting vaccinated Aside from protecting you and your family, this action protects the community and further minimizes the chance that your child would have to miss school. Our nurses can advise on how to make a vaccination appointment for children ages 12 and above, as well as for adults. 3. Encouraging your children to take responsibility for following the barrier measures, wearing their masks, cleaning their hands, and generally being careful whilst still enjoying their time at school. For older students it is especially important that they maintain this discipline whilst not at school. 4. Testing yourselves and your children if you are concerned or uncertain. Self tests are now easily available, pharmacy tests are quick and easy. Do not send your child to school if they have symptoms that could be COVID-19, please keep them home until you can test for COVID-19. If your older teenager has been out and socializing, and you or they are not sure that they followed barrier measures, please consider regular self-testing. Last year most of our COVID-19 cases were in the Upper School and were linked to social gatherings. We will keep you informed of any changes and developments as they occur. Please remember to consult our COVID-19 page and to carefully review any COVID-19 update emails as you receive them.
Through full community support we managed to keep our campus open all year, we aim to do so again with your help. Looking forward to another exciting and productive year!
Best wishes,
Jane
