WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER ISSUE

"How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?"

Dear Readers,

We are happy to announce that ASP will be hosting the next Middle School Poetry by Heart Inter-Schools Competition in the Spring of 2020. Fourteen schools in the Paris area have signed up to participate.

To that end, the MS English teachers will organize some of our very own MS students to be involved! Participating students will choose a poem from an anthology and spend the next few weeks memorizing it as well as practicing recitation techniques. Our in-house competition will take place in the PAC late January to choose which students will represent ASP in the Spring. Stay tuned for more! For the poetry lovers amongst you, here is the anthology.

Also related to languages, the first bilingual Match d'Impro between our school and the Lycée Louis de Broglie will take place at ASP on December 3 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. You won't want to miss this. The second meet will be in the Spring of 2020.

Finally, this month's Book Highlight is Power Trip: The Story of Energy written by Dr. Michael Webber. The author will speak at the American Library in Paris on Dec. 11 at 19:30.

Happy Holidays to all!
