New Family Orientation Middle School and Upper School: Tuesday, August 28 Lower School: Wednesday, August 29 Please plan to bring the entire family for New Family Orientation. The warm welcome you'll receive is the perfect start to your ASP adventure! You'll gather with other new families to meet directors, teachers, and other new and returning ASP students and parents – including many of our active Parent Faculty Association (PFA) volunteers. Orientation takes place from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. over two days:
Note: If your family has children in the Lower School and the Middle School or Upper School, then please plan to attend both Orientation sessions. You are welcome to arrive on campus starting at 9:00 a.m., via the Garches gate (get directions here). The program, which includes a light lunch, will go through 1:00 p.m. for most families. Please click on the images below to download the Orientation schedule.
Middle School and Upper School Placement Testing Monday, August 27 In order to guide new students into the most appropriate courses, our teachers conduct placement testing. New students in the Middle School and Upper School should arrive at ASP between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 27 to complete their placement evaluations. Testing should be completed around 11:30 a.m. During the testing period, parents are invited to attend an information session. For incoming Middle School students, placement testing will be conducted for math and French. Please note that English testing will be conducted, as needed, after Orientation on Tuesday afternoon. For Upper School students, placement testing is a two-step process. The first step involves online placement tests in math for all incoming students and in French and Spanish for anyone who has previously studied those subjects. Online tests should be completed by August 10. Step two happens on Monday, August 27: in order to complete the placement and scheduling, students will review their online tests and do any additional placement work.
