Arts at ASP

The arts are intrinsically valuable as an avenue for the creative expression of our human psyche.

Exposure to, exploration of, and instruction in the arts are essential components of a comprehensive 21st century education. Research clearly shows that the arts contribute greatly to the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and civic development of the students we serve. The arts uniquely address the complete human experience, making them a significant foundation upon which to develop the personal and academic excellence cited in the ASP Mission Statement.

Our Arts Link is  one of the finest facilities for arts education amongst schools in the region.

As a school, we have made a significant investment in the arts through the construction of a new, modern building and the skilled maintenance of our 350-seat theatre - the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Situated at the heart of ASP’s newly-developed campus, the Arts Link facility includes:

  • black box theatre
  • two sound-proofed music rooms
  • performing arts classroom
  • four practice rooms
  • recording studio
  • digital media lab
  • film-making suite
  • art rooms dedicated to ceramics, sculpture, photography and studio art.

Students will be learning in a modern, inviting, purpose-built atmosphere, with the space to explore and develop their own talents.

ASP offers a variety of visual and performing arts classes scheduled within the school day, enjoying the same allocation of time as other subjects. Students are able to pursue most arts courses to IB level guided by qualified, dedicated, specialist teachers. Clubs, ensembles, theatre productions and student-led activities are on offer after school, as are private music lessons with professional musicians on the school campus.
