8 years of excellence
Congratulations to our INK Magazine students for being recognized by The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in their annual Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Program as an "Excellent" publication. This is the eighth year in a row that Ink has been awarded the rank of "Excellent"––a tremendous achievement!
INK Magazine, the ASP student literary publication, is created each year by an editorial board, composed of interested students under the guidance of Upper School teacher Ms. Antoine. Led by Poetica, the Grade 12 Editor in Chief, the students gather student photography, poetry, short fiction, essays, and graphic-novel style stories.
The club allows students across the school to show their talent, explore new areas of expression, express their imagination, and build their self confidence. In addition to the yearly publication, the students host an open-mic literary evening, and take part in expeditions into Paris to literary landmarks like the Shakespeare & Co. bookstore.
The group's next project is to interview Jad Abumrad as part of the Visiting Writer program next week. They have researched his career and the intersection between their goals as a literary magazine and his experience in radio and story-telling. Stay tuned for a recap of their interview in the coming weeks!
