Board of Trustees

Dear Parents, Students, Faculty and Staff,Welcome to ASP and to the start of the 2012-13 school year.  

If you are new, please remember that we have all been new once and understand that change can be challenging.  As you start the school year, many of your impressions will be based on comparisons to another school, friends, favorite teachers or different places you many have lived.  Comparisons are an important part of any transition and we encourage you to use those comparisons constructively.  Please help us as a school to reaffirm what we are doing well and, with your fresh perspective, to look at areas to improve. Take time to get involved.  Staff, faculty, students and parents are looking forward to doing all that they can to help you feel at home here and to make the transition as easy as possible.

As in many other schools, the Board of Trustees is responsible for the long-term viability of the school, strategic and finance oversight and governance.  We work in partnership with the Head of School to ensure that resources are allocated and used optimally and that programs continue to develop and serve the needs of the ASP community.  ASP is in the second year of implementation of a 5-year strategic plan and we are looking forward to a campus refurbishment plan inclusive of a fundraising campaign to help ensure the work can be carried out as soon as possible.  You will be hearing about the progress of these projects throughout the school year as well as at an information evening in November.

The Board is currently composed of a group of trustees that includes current ASP parents, former parents and alumni.  A cross section of skills and experience are represented and we are all volunteers.  The standing committees currently are Finance, Advancement, Facilities, Education and Trustees.  As a self perpetuating Board, we are often looking for new members to be in involved on committees, so please be in touch if you would like to know more.
